This year, we stayed at Samonatura for the third time, our favourite small-scale naturist resort.

We stayed in Arco-Iris, one of the four houses on the resort. The house has a spacious living room and a lovely bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and two terraces. The large side terrace offers a 180-degree view of the hills, eucalyptus forest and the sea, while the smaller terrace also has a sea view. There are plenty of towels, shower towels, bathrobes and extra-long bath towels for use on the comfortable sun loungers on the large terrace.

The house also contains a useful folder with tips about the surrounding area, contact numbers for medical assistance, etc. There is also extensive information about the beautiful long-distance coastal walking route.

Because the houses are situated some distance from one another, you have a great deal of privacy. And if you are looking for company, you can find it at the large swimming pool, the sauna and the hot tub.

The entire property is beautifully full of flowers and very carefully maintained.

The resort is situated well away from the public road, ensuring peace and quiet and undisturbed nights.

Just a few kilometres away there is a friendly little fishing village with small supermarkets, as well as a large number of fantastic beaches, some of them naturist, tucked away in coves between the cliffs.

A little further afield are larger towns and cities such as Beja and Évora, which are also definitely worth a visit.

For us, the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and the care with which the hosts, Jos and Martine, look after their guests are the reasons why we keep coming back.
